Zara’s U.S. window is 30 days, but the start date is the trap: for online orders the clock starts on the shipment date, not the day the package lands. Store purchases get 30 days from the purchase date. Items must be in original condition with all labels, returned in the same market where you bought them. Zara shows your final return date in each order’s detail page.

Because shipping can take several days, an online order can lose almost a week of its window before you open the box. Write the date from your order detail on the bag the day it arrives.
Free in store vs $4.95 drop-off
In store: free at any Zara store, for both online and store purchases. Bring the items and your Zara QR code or receipt; someone else can drop them off for you.
Drop-off point: online purchases only. Request the return in your account’s Returns section (or via “Manage Your Order” in your confirmation email as a guest). Zara emails instructions and labels. The cost is $4.95 per return request, subtracted from your refund. Drop the package off before the return period ends.
Special return conditions
- Swimwear: must include the hygiene strip.
- Undergarments: women’s may be returned in the same condition with the protective bag or sticker; men’s can’t be returned; kids’ only certain items still in original packaging.
- Accessories: with the original bag or cardboard intact.
- Fragrances: original sealed packaging. Cosmetics: unused and sealed.
- Personalized items: not returnable. Packs: can’t be split. Magazines: not returnable.
- HOME items: sealed original packaging, original condition.
Gift receipts and exchanges
With a gift receipt, Zara refunds to a gift card (store or online). To get money back on the original payment method, you need the original receipt. Exchanges follow the same 30-day rules; check Zara’s exchange page for online options for your order type.
Holiday 2026 note
As of November 2, 2026 we did not find a published U.S. holiday return extension on Zara’s help pages. Zara’s terms allow a longer period only when it’s stated in writing at purchase, order confirmation or shipment confirmation — so check your order detail and receipt for any extended date. Photograph the receipt the day you buy — thermal paper fades. Save order and shipping emails in one folder, and write the return-by date on the bag or box. If you paid with a card that offers return protection, keep the statement line too.

Does Zara’s 30 days start at delivery?
